Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce
Member Engagement Coordinator

Team Department: Membership

Reports To: President/CEO

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

FLSA: Exempt

Salary Grade: Pt (30 hrs. per week)

Position Summary: The Member Engagement Coordinator works closely with the Membership Team and/or CEO with key role to support NACC members to ensure a positive, successful relationship with the Chamber. The MEC provides one-on-one consultations to Members (with an emphasis on first year Members), facilitates engagement opportunities and provides insight on strategies to maximize Membership. Additionally, the MEC helps to identify solutions to retain potential at-risk members and acts as a liaison between account executives, members and chamber staff.

Responsibilities:
▪ Plan and execute quarterly outreach for first-year Members communicating by phone and/or customized emails and one-one-one meetings recording touchpoints in client management system.
▪ Perform monthly outreach to house accounts via phone or emails followed up with site visits per Member request. Identify at-risk members and refer to Director of Finance and/or CEO.
▪ Serve as staff liaison for Ambassadors Committee which requires attendance at monthly advisory committee meetings and regular committee member meetings to provide Chamber updates. Prepare and print agenda packets, update roster, log committee member points. Plan yearly rally.
▪ Oversees GPS Navigation Program, recruit Navigators (mentors) and match them to new members. Follow up for feedback with surveys.
▪ Strategically connect with Members to engage them either with other Members or appropriate events.
▪ Create a monthly report for MOC Chair.
▪ Collaborate with Membership team on strategies to increase membership satisfaction and retention.
▪ Track relevant interactions with members in Weblink to have detailed descriptions on the experiences of our members.
▪ Be involved in all new member events including but not limited to: Ribbon Cuttings, New Member Orientation.
▪ Attend all Signature events.
▪ Serve as a liaison between AE and future/current Members.
▪ Get testimonials/success stories from members to use in marketing materials and to pass along to MOC chair
▪ Assist members with website navigation.
▪ Connect members with other members to enable solid business connections.
▪ Assist with other membership related tasks as assigned and works to support the overall organization & Membership Team.

Job Qualifications
▪ Business Acumen- Ability to connect with Members and understand their business and what they might need specifically from the chamber to assist in their business growth.
▪ Customer Service- Strong customer service skills and experience working in an a fast-paced environment.
▪ Communication- Conveys information persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentations skills and excellent intrapersonal skills.
▪ Confidentiality- Supports and encourages confidentiality as it relates to information regarding members and peers.
▪ Detail oriented
▪ Judgement- Displays willingness to make independent decisions, exhibits sound judgement, makes timely decisions and accepts responsibility for results.
▪ Leadership Skills- Exhibits the ability to get along well with others, is open to new ideas, makes self available to staff, accepts authority and responsibility and is customer service oriented. Model behaviors established by Chamber.
▪ Numbers- Be able to comfortably discuss numbers/account status with Members.
▪ Planning/Organizing – Prioritizes and plans work activities without supervision, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
▪ Problem Solving- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
▪ Polished and positive- Demonstrates professionalism in communication style, attire and attitude when dealing with staff, Members and community.
▪ Quality Management- Continuously looks for ways to improve and promote quality, and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
▪ Relationship Management- Build and sustain positive relationships with key stakeholders. Proven customer service and relationship management skills.
▪ Safety and Security- Actively promotes and personally observes safety, security and confidentiality procedures, and uses materials and equipment responsibly
▪ Strategic Bold Thinker- Creates a culture of innovation by anticipating industry trends and developing creative ideas to position Chamber to be relevant to members. Explores ways to do things differently and engages in constant process improvement efforts.
